What is web hosting?
Web hosting refers to the process of publishing a web site so that it is available to the world on the Web. Paid web hosting also involves getting a domain name and not having forced ads displayed on your site.What is a domain name?
A domain name is a sequence of letters and numbers which determine the address of your site. This site's domain name is "hosttone.com." You need to register a domain name before your web site becomes accessible at this address.
What are subdomains?
Consider subdomains as an extension of your domain. For example, your site is www.your_domain.com. A subdomain would be test.your_domain.com, and another would be webhosting.your_domain.com.
Subdomains are usually treated as separate sites from the main domain site.Will there be forced advertising on my site - things like banner ads or popup ads?
You are paying for webspace that is only yours - no one may put ads on your site except you.
What are PHP, ASP, perl, Coldfusion, etc?
These are all programming languages or application server. Each programming language has its own benefits and uses. It is best that you research on your own to find one that best fits your needs.
What is MySQL, MS SQL, etc?
MySQL and MS SQL are database systems. Depending on what your host provides, you can use a database to organize your data.What is the difference between Linux hosting and Windows hosting?
Depending on which operating system to go with depends on your needs.
If you need to support Microsoft products such as ASP, MS Access, or VBScript, then Windows hosting would be better. Furthermore, if you are comfortable with IIS and do not have the time to understand how Linux works, Windows hosting would again be a better choice.
Linux is much more common with web hosts due to its superior stability and because it is free. Since it is free, Linux hosting is usually cheaper than Windows. Just because it's free does not mean it's not as good - Linux is an excellent product too.What is Domain Parking?
Domain parking lets you buy a domain and then have a 'coming soon' page on it. This is not needed - if a domain is not parked it will simply be iinaccessible to anyone.

Can I access my site with or without the 'www'?
Yes, you can access your site with both (www.yourname.com) and without (yourname.com).
Is it possible for me to access email through a web browser (Webmail)?
Yes, you can access the mails through your browser.I've published (uploaded) my web pages to my website. Still, I'm getting the "Under Construction page". Why?
You will need to rename your home page index.html or default.htm and then re-upload that file to your hosting web space. Once you name your home page correctly and re-upload it, you will overwrite the Under Construction page that was created for you.
I'm able to receive the mails, but not able to send. Why?
If your using your ISP as AOL, Earthlink, etc, then he need to provide the SMTP server address of your ISP as they do not support any private domain names to be used for SMTP server address. If you are still facing any problem in sending mails, please contact our technical support.
